What is Moss Control?

Moss Control is a chemical treatment designed to kill and remove organic growth such as moss, algae and lichen from your building’s exterior surfaces. These organisms can damage cladding and roofing by breaking down protective coatings and exposing the materials beneath. Left untreated, this can lead to rust, water ingress and structural deterioration.

Our Moss Control process uses low-pressure spraying (less than 200psi) to apply site-specific, non-corrosive chemicals that won’t damage paint or glass. It’s a “spray and walk away” approach. Visible die off occurs over approximately 8 weeks. The treatment can be followed by a building exterior clean to accelerate the removal of the dead material and other surface soils like dust, cobwebs and insects.

Moss Control is best managed with an all-season approach. Spraying in Spring to remove the build-up that has accumulated over Winter. Summer dries out the plant material making it brittle. Rain in Autumn dislodges the material, moving it into your gutters so keeping on top of your gutter cleaning is crucial. In Winter, it starts to build up and the cycle starts again.
